  Why don’t toddlers or infant listen when we tell them not to do things? Toddlers are born this way so that they learn all the things they need to learn as a toddler.  “How to behave” in a certain manner is actually subjective and not a skill a toddler needs to progress to the next stage of development. So child learning is trill and error.  Impulse control, self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy and reasoning will all increase as they age. And these skills needs trial and error with time and multiple attempts.  The learning of these skills can be impacted by personality and environment in which a child needs certain age.  yet they are often over-estimated by adults as we don't know what they are thinking and how they are perceiving the environment. Because with age the child interests change.  Just because your toddler has done something once or twice by accident or all of sudden. It does not mean he master that skills as in case of language development the child use one or two
